When used alone, meat usually refers to ground meat from the Abattoir, which is usually a mix of sapient citizens, beasts, ambulant furniture, and whatever else gets scraped off the streets.

The corpses are ground whole, and with minimal preparation - it's not uncommon to find bones, teeth, claws, scales, fur, or even bits of clothing or jewelry in one's meat. Most insiders are able to tolerate this, and some enjoy collecting any interesting bits they happen to find.

Meat tends to be cheap and plentiful, and can be found on the menu of many restaurants.
