The Cult of Quelsh focuses on resisting Nodd's temptations to be cruel and overindulgent. This includes enduring the resulting punishments that come from this lifestyle choice. Much of the cult exists to simply provide support to those struggling with the impossible task of trying to be an ethical creature in Nodd.

Cult members are at high risk for harassment and abuse by non-members, and many don't leave the cult's headquarters.

Magic

While often misunderstood, most members are not against sex, but don't tolerate anything that's not safe, moderate, clean, and consensual. The same goes with substance use - safely and only in moderation. Quelsh's spells and magic tend to focus on these concepts, providing protection and cleanliness in specific ways or during specific acts.

Aesthetic

Members of Quelsh tend to be visibly more well kempt than those around them, especially in the case of nurks. As such they often stand out among the streets of the city itself and will keep separate sets of clothes that are more worn or dirty to better blend in when not around other cult members.

Lair

The cult's headquarters are pristine and sanitized, offering baths, parasite removal and disease treatment, comfortable sleeping quarters, meditation space, and more. The headquarters is the centerpiece of New Altar, the township which formed around the cult as it grew.

History

The cult was founded by Flisk Primsnout after the nurk gave up on any hope of ever achieving meaningful positive change through her membership with House Omnillian. She abandoned her House as well as the city itself and struck out into the wilds of Nodd, using her knowledge and magic to found a safe space in Nodd among the mountains north of the city. In time others found their way and joined her effort in hopes for a better, safer life, or to enact their own positive change on the world. As time passed the Cult of Quelsh formed around this effort and, after still more time, New Altar grew around the cult's headquarters.
