These parties are held quite regularly and it isn't uncommon to attend just for the thrill of doing so. There are usually House mages performing magic to show off, and sometimes offering spell services for free. In addition, Houses will frequently give away all manner of artifacts to attendees - generally trinkets and gadgets that are essentially useless and do little more than promote the House in some way they are still desired. Some parties include ensorcelled goodies or transformative treats with a range of effects that attendees must be mindful of lest they walk away much different than how they arrived.

These parties tend to be quite thrilling, featuring food and drink (which may or may not be laced with spells), as well as free artifacts. Though these artifacts are often of questionable practical use, the majority being mere trinkets that promote the hosting faction. An attendee ought to be wary of what they interact with at one of these parties: with so much magic being shown off, it is not uncommon for a partygoer to leave vastly different than how they arrived.

An initiation party is an event put on by one of the Houses or cults in order to draw new recruits to their fold. Magic is powered by belief and thus Houses themselves grow more powerful the more mages they have who ascribe to the same sets of beliefs and goals.
