Chimerae refer to any number of citizens who do not have dominant enough traits to identify them squarely as any particular species or hybridization of species.

Physiology

Due to the almost endless nature of variability between chimerae almost nothing can be said of certain about them as a whole, other than that they exist; most of them, at least. Though extremely rare it was discovered once outsiders began to arrive in Nodd that some handful of chimerae vaguely resembled the newcomers.

When enough chimerae bearing certain sets of identifiable traits spawn regularly and are noticed they can sometimes be given a new species name and start to become recognized as such. When named the nature of their spawning is often attempted to be discerned if it is not already known. Chimerae are also not necessarily aligned with any one aspect, but can be aligned with almost any combination depending on their nature.
