Notable Individuals

The term hybrid refers to an individual of mixed species that maintains clear distinguishing traits of other Noddish species. Should such an individual show no clear distinguishing traits, they are instead referred to as a chimera. Typically, a given hybrid's lineage will only maintain recognizable traits of the parent species for around four or five generations. Hybrids do not necessarily require breeding between different species - Nodd's chaotic nature will at times result in unusual offspring even between parents of the same species.

Physiology

Hybrid species vary widely, but they are notable for uniquely blending the traits of their hybridized species in unusual manners, both physical and metaphysical. While not all traits are expressed evenly, or even at all, it is very typical of a hybrid to inherit at least some facet of their parent species' quirks. Slyne hybrids may or may not retain the need to feed on suffering, for instance - it may even be warped to require feeding on other emotions.

Hybrids show a wide amount of variation even between hybrids of the same types. Hybridization in nearly all cases is limited to distinct traits from at most two species - a citizen who's descended from a mix of ravel, slyne, and oggorus but who shows primarily traits matching a ravel and an oggorus would be considered a ravel/oggorus hybrid. Often hybrid species are referred to as a combination of the names of their parent species - A hybrid slyne/ravel would be a slyvel, for instance.

Stereotypes

Hybrid behavior varies as wildly as their physiology, but often follows the trend of being a mix of traits - hybrids with ravel in the mix are notorious for inheriting a fascination with puzzles, for instance. However, these behaviors may be less focused or altered in some manner.
