Shrinking refers to the spell Reduce being used to shrink the victim to between 1 and 4 inches tall. At that point they are released back into the city and left to fend for themselves. The punishment is relatively common and is the reason for many microcitizens in the city. Most of them insist they did nothing to warrant the punishment in the first place. If a shrunken microcitizen were to die and is resurrected they will revert to their original size. Due to being cast as a council mandated punishment the spell lasts indefinitely until death or reversed in some other way.
