Spawning Myth

The sludgewort is a strange plant that has developed a somewhat unique method to extract nutrients from other creatures that sometimes creates a mutually beneficial relationship.
Physiology
The sludgewort looks like a massive flower of sorts which lures creatures into the large, grasping petals of its upper portion. Once there the victim is engulfed as the plant forcefeeds them a thick slurry of nutrients which have a strong laxative effect that causes near a near immediate need to relieve oneself. The plant's lower portion is perfectly positioned to receive the victim's ecrement as a means to fertilize and sustain itself.
Due to the prevalence of parasites in Nodd it isn't uncommon for fauna species, and even desperate citizens at times, to seek out the sludgewort as a crude "cleansing" method in hopes of ridding themselves of unwanted hitchhikers.
Habitat
The sludgewort grows almost exclusively in swamps but has also been known to creep its way into sewers and water outlets from time to time.
