Notable Individuals

A hybrid is a name given to the species of an individual with clear, distinguishable traits. Generally the exact lineage becomes too muddied after four or five divisions and most would simply be considered chimerae at that point.

Physiology

The nature of a hybrid varies almost as much as that of chimerae except that hybrids are always the sum of their inherited and distinguishable parts. But what exactly is, and isn't, inherited in the individual varies wildly. Some slyne hybrids retain the need to feed on suffering, others find themselves needing to feed on other emotions, and still others gain no sustenance whatsoever from them. Some might still be sensitive to the suffering of others without being satiated by it. An oggorus hybrid might have addictive body fluids or those with no effect at all.

It is worth noting that the physical species or parentage of a hybrid's actual parents are not necessarily what they themselves are hybrids of, nor is it required a parent be of any species that ultimately ends up in a hybrid. It is thought that Nodd's chaotic nature influences births and that the conditions of spawning myths met around the time the hybrid was conceived affects it potential species. Thus it is entirely possible for two nurks to girth birth to a nurk, a nurk-hybrid, a chimerae, and even a pure species other than nurk!

The variation in hybrids is truly immense but in every case some remarkable aspect of the parent species is intact.

Stereotypes

Hybrids vary wildly but, as with their physiology, will tend towards the same stereotypes as their parts. A hybrid with any part ravel may find themselves pulled towards puzzles and riddles, though perhaps on a broader scale such as the intricate workings of complex artifacts.
