A savant is a mage who has successfully undertaken their faction's Final Rite, a challenge designed by the most powerful mages of that house or cult to test the worthiness of the would-be savant. Passing this trial and gaining the title of savant marks full acceptance as one of the senior mages of that faction, and comes with many privileges.
