In most cases this causes the soul's previous body to almost immediately expire. As much as death can sometimes be only an inconvenience, if a traumatic one, this spell can be used to keep an adversary out of one's hair for a longer period of time - provided one has the means to contain such a soul indefinitely, and isn't afraid of eventual revenge if it is released. If the soul is not somehow contained the individual will resurrect as normal before long.
