Nodd is full of an immense range of species of an almost endless variety of appearances. Some of the more prominent and commonly seen combinations of traits become known as distinct species of a given name. Recognizable mixes between several species, i.e. a character with obvious slyne and ravel traits, are known as hybrids, and typically will be named as such (in the case of the given example: a slyvel, for instance.)

Insiders whose species are distinct from most others or are too mixed to clearly define are simply known as "chimerae".

It should be noted that as the project evolve more species will likely be added. For consistency's sake, unless specified otherwise, it is safe to assume that they have always been present in physical form if not also in name throughout the city's history. Some species may receive changes over time to their look, tendencies, or traits. Nobody is ever "required" to alter or "update" a character to fit with these changes if they do not wish to. Consider reasons your character might differ, or perhaps the species began to change as a whole as turns pass, etc.
