The surface level entry to the citadel and the lower floors above it contain House Psilysium's expansive libraries. Almost any form of knowledge recorded that deals with the mind, thought, or philosophy in any form is likely to be found within the catalogues of the House's libraries. While there are plenty of books and tomes of recorded knowledge it's just as likely that one might find a voyeur glass or any other form of artifact that can repeat or record information.

The middle floors of the citadel hold the puzzle rooms and the illusory theater. The puzzle rooms are a series of rooms which change frequently and are crafted by House mages. Other mages may attempt to solve the puzzles purely for sake of the experience and enjoyment of the puzzle. Most puzzle rooms are inherently dangerous if not downright deadly but this hardly deters any true seekers of the mind. It is considered just as important to create a puzzle as to attempt to solve it, as the two aspects of question and answer are an important duality for any true thinker.
The citadel's basement levels contain house Psilysium's apothecaries, where mages work to prepare ingredients for mind altering substances in a variety of ways. The illusory theater is a sizable stage with ample seating where illusionary shows are put on almost non-stop. The contents of the shows vary wildly - sometimes they'll be tragic stories or comedic bits and other times there'll simply be music playing for a time. The most remarkable trait, however, is that despite being illusory the performances are ''more'' immersive as a result of House Psilysium's influence. Watching the unfolding of a play for too long will find one wholly immersed in the story and world, entirely unaware of its illusory nature nor the theater they're still actually sitting in while watching it.

Summary

The Psilysium Citadel sits within the depths of its namesake district. The citadel serves as the center of house Psilysium and as Filo Rooke's domain, the citygod contained within the highest portion of the structure - largely left alone with his own thoughts. The citadel itself possesses a quiet contemplative air to it, and the mages within are most likely found exploring their own minds, in one manner or another.

Services

The Psilysium Citadel serves as a refuge for members of its namesake house, filled with many facilities to cater to the interests of Psilysians. The Citadel itself is generally closed to the public, so as to allow house members to better focus their minds.

The ground floor and the lower floors just above consist of house Psilysium's libraries. Within these archives one can find a wealth of knowledge recorded in many ways. Tomes are naturally common, but the library does not shy away from more unusual methods of recording - voyeur's glasses, for instance, or other similar artifacts.

The citadel's basement levels contain house Psilysium's apothecaries, where mages work to prepare ingredients for mind altering substances in a variety of ways. Generally ingredients are sourced from outside of the citadel, though some prefer to keep their processes more directly controlled, growing what they need in their workspace.

The citadel's middle floors house a variety of puzzle rooms, and the illusory theater. Puzzle rooms are designed by house mages for others to enter and solve the puzzles presented within, with the intent to challenge the minds of the guest as well as the puzzle's creator. Often, failing to finish a room's puzzles will result in a consequence of the designer's pick befalling the unfortunate guest (or guests) within.

The illusory theater is a sizable room featuring a grand stage and ample seating, where a Psilysian can lose themselves to an illusionary show of some sort. Shows can vary wildly, from comedies to tragedies, and there is always something to experience within the theater - even if it is simply music. These shows have a tendency to immerse a viewer in the experience as if they were truly there to witness events firsthand.

The highest levels of the citadel contain the pondering rooms, with the highest floor housing Filo's personal chambers, said to be the grandest pondering room of all. These rooms are quiet locations lined with comfortable furnishings such as pillows, and often have soft music playing. They are designed for one to lose themselves in thought, and naturally muffle any sounds within - though one might hear whispers of conversations and debates if they focus. Most who partake of these rooms are inebriated in some manner, usually heavily. A sober visitor is not likely to stay sober long, wandering the hazy, smoke filled halls to find an empty room. Psylisians who come here tend to do so with the intent to delve as far into their minds as they possibly can, by any means at their disposal.
