This spell identifies and reveals any curses on a given artifact. Some curses are in the perception of the holder, however, and the assurance of an item to be curse-free, even tested by this very spell, by another may not guarantee the same for a new owner. Similarly it can be difficult to know with certainty if the casting succeeded in the firstplace and thus apprentices sometimes fall victim to a false sense of security when playing with unknown artifacts.
