This spell turns the target to stone. While some might suspect it gives one a familiarity with a petrid's natural abilities this spell is actually almost instantaneously fatal if fully petrified. A skilled caster can leave just enough of the individual intact to keep them trapped for some time but even still death is but a matter of time unless the spell is somehow reversed.
