The Conduit is a magical artifact created by Quin Aven, the secrets of which the council claimed as their own when they abducted Quin to his current role as citygod. It is unclear whether Quin was locked away by the council as a result of, or in order to create, the device, but it serves an important role in the city's indefinite growth and abundance.

It is believed the Conduit plays an invaluable role in reabsorbing spent gloam in the form of haze and channeling it back into the city such that it can be reprocessed and used again.
