An illusive prosthesis is a wearable device that projects an illusive limb. The device is usually in the form of a stump cap, and projects the illusion for the missing remainder of the limb. The illusion is tangible, supports the wearer's weight, and can be controlled by the wearer. Most are designed to be essentially "installed" permanently in place, though removable models do exist.

It's worth noting that these sorts of artifacts require an expenditure of gloam to install and link to the user, but once linked, do not require a constant supply like many artifacts. It is thought that they are then sustained via the natural process of absorbing and expending gloam, as all creatures do by simply existing.
