Wishing sphincters are tooth-rung orifice seen all over Nodd, particularly throughout the Doldrums. Though insiders originally considered them to be of no particular import outsiders began to give them a special meaning since their arrival. Numerous outsiders were observed walking up to and speaking into the sphincters, sometimes also throwing an object in.

As a result some insiders have begun the practice as well and whispers stir about the potential power of the so-called "wishing" sphincter. It is said that if a sphincter "winks" after your wish that it will come true.
