Some are used to test innovative new weapons or artifacts while others are experimented on for sake of cataloging, general research, medical knowledge, and more.

The surface level entry to the citadel and the lower floors above it contain the House's armory and expansive menagerie. The armory acts primarily as a showcase of Omnillian's inventions and technology. The House frequently has on display intimidating vehicles armed to the teeth and brimming with gloam, artifacts of potentially devastating destruction, and anything else that can wow or impress onlookers.

The menagerie acts to show off Omnillian's knowledge of Nodd's species, many of which are held as a live specimen in the menagerie and are still actively studied. Knowledge that House mages were able to obtain about the species is on display in front of each exhibit.
Visitors are welcome within the citadel's halls, and the entryway is designed to show off the brilliance of Omnillian to all. The ground floor and a handful of floors above it are designed as a mix of a showcase, armory, and menagerie. A guest is welcomed to marvel over Omnillian's latest technology - examples include vehicles replete with weaponry, destructive handheld artifacts, or other such stunning displays.

The middle floors of the citadel hold House Omnillian's laboratories and hospital. The labs are where all of Omnillian's experimentation occurs and within can be seen almost any imaginable experiment involving gloam and its incorporation into new artifacts and technology of any sort. Quite frequently fodder from the basement level are helpfully volunteered to aid in these experiments.
Visiting citizens are also welcome to tour Omnillian's menagerie, where the house gleefully makes displays of a myriad of live specimens. Knowledge that Omnillian mages have collected about each given species is proudly displayed before each exhibit, and guests may find themselves at the receiving end of a lengthy discussion about what is currently being studied.

The hospital offers House mages extra access to their medical needs but the staff are just as interested in studying and understanding injuries and conditions as they are in treating them. There is also a significant focus on body augmentation procedures and surgeries and much of the work in the labs is done in tandem with the hospital staff accordingly.
Beasts, however, are not the only creatures housed in the citadel for study - the basement levels contain what is referred to as the 'fodder pens'. Citizens who were chosen for experimentation are held within until required. "Volunteers" come from a variety of sources, with many plucked off the streets or taken down after being separated from a tour group, with rumors that some of them did indeed volunteer for the duty.

The highest levels of House Omnillian are where their troves of knowledge are both held and studied. Libraries fill the upper levels with any and all information that House mages have discovered and recorded, readily available for their peers to peruse and learn from. It is said that no small part of the library is Quin's own work, but whispers tell of the untold wealth of knowledge he is yet forbidden from revealing.
Experiments on both beasts and citizens are varied. Many experiments are designed for general research - cataloguing, furthering medical understanding, and other such tests. It is entirely possible for fodder to be released after a simple examination. However, it is also entirely possible that fodder was chosen to test the effects of a new weapon's capabilities as well.

House Omnillian is eager to show off its technological advances and discoveries for combat and protection as well as their staggering collection of many of the living species of Nodd. Each one is contained for viewing with detailed information presented before it, all gleaned through Omnillian's studious efforts.

Even more unusual, however, is that most mages who have joined House Omnillian have frequent contact with Quin himself. Quin, by merit of being literally built into the citadel itself, communicates readily with members remotely through displays and control panels that litter the citadel. Quin even has a variety of artificial bodies that he "loads" his awareness into which provides him some measure of freedom to roam the citadel. There are some, however, who deny any of this to be true and suspect there to be some sort of artificial awareness that is not actually Quin but simply parades as him, and wonder if the citygod even truly resides at the top of the citadel at all.

Summary

The Omnillian Citadel lies within the heart of the Omnillian District, standing tall and proud. It is the headquarters of house Omnillian, and where the citygod of Omnillian Quin Aven is currently contained. Quin's physical form rests in the top floor of the citadel. However, he can send his awareness throughout the complex and control it's many functions at a whim.

Services

The citadel serves as a grand laboratory for members of house Omnillian to experiment and further their understanding of Nodd's inner workings - or, at times, update it should the City's nature change. It's many floors are generally grouped by purpose and laid out in a thoughtful manner to ensure efficient day to day operations.

The citadel's middle floors house their laboratories and medical wing. While tours do occasionally reach these floors, it is often only groups of prospective members of Omnillian rather than general citizenry. The labs are one of the busiest sections of the citadel, with constant experiments and tests being run. Weapon or artifact tests on fodder are also performed here - particularly notable tests may even be held as an event for spectacle.

The medical wing contains a wide selection of facilities, including a general hospital. It is tough to tell where the laboratory ends and the medical wing begins, however - the staff are just as eager to study the progression of injuries and diseases as they are to treat them, and body augmentations or other similar procedures are carried out close to the labs. Omnillian's medical services are open to house members, any with an interesting condition to study, and finally any who can pay.

The uppermost floors of the citadel are reserved for the archives. The lower section of the archives act as a library, filled with reference material and results of prior studies performed by house mages - as well as Quin's own works, which are said to be no small portion of the library's contents. The middle section of the archives tends to house less regularly utilized data. The upper sections of the archive, closest to Quin's physical form, are more mysterious. Acting as Quin's personal archive, few are permitted to access the uppermost floors. Whispers abound of the untold knowledge within, and rumors state that he may even be forbidden from revealing any of it.

Atmosphere

The Omnillian Citadel is unusual among other house citadels in that they allow general citizenry relatively open access to their domain. Similarly unusual is that most mages within Omnillian have had frequent contact and discussion with Quin Aven himself - he stands as one of the most approachable among citygods due to his integration with the citadel. It is not unusual for Quin to send his consciousness to a given panel or display, and there are an untold number of devices in the citadel he can communicate through.

Quin also possesses a variety of artificial bodies he can push his awareness into, allowing him some freedom to move within the citadel - though it seems he can only act within the citadel's walls, even so. Omnillian mages treat Quin with respect, but there are some rumors regardless. Some deny that Quin is so free - why would he be so unique among citygods, allowed to roam so freely? They theorize that 'Quin' is nothing more than some artificial creation, an awareness that masquerades as him - and similarly, they wonder if the citygod truly rests atop the citadel after all.
