The Abyss refers to the area outside the City of Nodd, particularly that past the spread of the city's light.

There's no sun in the abyss, and many strange and terrible creatures dwell within the impenetrable darkness.

-The Abyss begins at the furthest edges of the [[Doldrums]] where light simply drops off into complete darkness. Some have spoken of creatures that roam the edge of the Abyss, briefly foraying into the Doldrums to seek out prey or victims, but verbal accounts have failed to paint any consistent concepts of these creatures. Several attempts to use [[Voyeur Glasses]] to explore the Abyss have failed, the glasses simply failing to operate once close enough to the Abyss.
